Nova sit's project

The performance is based on a simple model – a group of young Cubans – sometime in near future – play a Fidel game at a beach to fight boredom. The players involved in this game are able to meet the heroes of their revolution, i.e. Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, Arnald Ochoa – these three public figures are drawn from among the players and all the rest can come down on them for the situation to which these three brought their country. In the final part of the game, the players lynching Fidel and his companions feel sympathy for their heroes, the game gets out of control and the participants are able to feel the magic of revolution themselves. This is probably the reason why boys play this game – to return back in time and feel the tough of the Cuban revolution – as a unique identification code. They return back and stay devoted. The game participants mediate these aspects through various revolution rituals – they again experience the myth of revolution, just like we experience the period of normalization with songs of Michal David and what not.
