They were among the firstCzechtheatregroupstointroduce“cool-britania”dramaand,inonewayor another, they‘ve been involved in all the Akropolis’ ventures.
Theatrical performances currently account for about a third of the main hall’s programme. Since 2005, contemporary theatrical performances of various genres have been presented under the rubric “dVA” (divadlo v Akropolis – theatre in Akropolis). The idea is provide an outlet for groups and individuals whose work does not fitwithintheconfinesoftraditionaltheatre.Thisis the type of theatre that best meets the criterion of “alternative” as it seeks out new directions and means of expression. This is not to say that amateur groups or established foreign and Czech artists are ignored.
